In this article, a story of how the Elyria community came together to raise funds to buy war bonds and earned a lot of money in returns. In addition to buying and earning bonds, the students knit sweaters, scarves, wristlets, and towels for the war effort. They also planted victory gardens and helped with the Red Cross and observed wheatless Wednesdays and Meatless Mondays to help conserve resources for the troops.
